About SSC CPO

CPO stands for Central Police Organization. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) holds an exam to recruit applicants for the position of Sub-inspector (SI) of Police. The exam is taken at national level for SI positions in several police organizations such as the ITBP, BSF, CRPF, and the SI in the Delhi Police, among others. The CPO exam proceedings are administered by SSC, which is one of the government organizations for which the SSC conducts the recruitment exam.

The Staff Selection Committee look after the proceedings of the CPO Exam. The SSC conducts number of exams for a variety of positions in government departments and ministries. SSC’s headquarters are in New Delhi, and the organization has six regional offices in Mumbai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, and Bengaluru.

SSC CPO Exam Notification & News

The detailed notification has important information about the exam. For example, exam eligibility, reservation policy, and fee for the exam. On the 17th of June 2020, the Commission released the Official Notification PDF for SSC CPO 2020-21 to recruit 1564 Sub-Inspector (SI) vacancies in the Central Armed Police Forces and Delhi Police.   • SSC CPO PST PET 2020 Admit Card Released on July 30th, 2021

For the 2020 test cycle, the SSC has released the PET/PST admission card (CR region). The PST/PET is set to take place from August 11th to August 23rd, 2021.

  • Paper-II Answer Key Released on August 6, 2021!

The Staff Selection Commission has issued the tentative answer key for SSC CPO Paper-II, which was held on July 26, 2021. From August 6th to August 8th, 2021, contestants can challenge the answer key.

  • SSC CPO Paper 2 2019 CR Admit Card Released on July 9, 2021

For the CR area, the SSC CPO admission card has been released. The exam will take place on July 26th, 2021.

  • The date for the SSC CPO exam has been set for July 2, 2021.

The test date for Paper 2 2019 has been announced. The exam was postponed owing to COVID-19; however it will now take place on July 26th, 2021.

SSC CPO Exam Application Fee

The General and OBC male candidates need to pay an application fee of Rs.100/- for the SSC CPO 2020-21 test. Women candidates, candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) are exempt from paying the application fee. Candidates can pay the cost in two ways:

  • Via credit card, debit card, or net banking.
  • Offline by SBI Challan.

The deadline for online payment of fee was 18th July 2020. But, the candidates paying the fee offline can do so till 20th July 2020.

 

SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility standards are mostly strict; however there are occasional exceptions for some categories. Aspirants who meet the following eligibility requirements should review the SSC CPO Syllabus and begin studying.

 

Nationality/ Citizenship

The criteria for nationality of Aspirants are regulated by the Staff Selection Commission. Candidates should determine whether or not they fall into one of these groups. A candidate can be any of the following, according to SSC guidelines:

  • Indian citizen
  • Citizen of Nepal
  • Bhutan’s citizen
  • Before January 1, 1962, a Tibetan refugee arrived in India with the goal of settling permanently.
  • A person of Indian heritage who has moved to India permanently from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, , Uganda, Malawi, Ethiopia, the East African countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Vietnam, and Zaire.

 

Education Criteria For SSC CPO

  • A Bachelor’s degree or comparable from a university recognized by the UGC is required. Graduation might be from any field of study.
  • Candidates in their last year of a Bachelor’s degree are also qualified to take this exam, as long as their graduation is finished by August 2021.

 

SSC CPO Age Limit

Candidates must be between the ages of 20 and 25 as of January 1, 2021, i.e., they must have been born between February 1, 1996 and January 1, 2001.

  • Minimum age limit is set at 20 years old.
  • Maximum age limit is 25 years of age.

In addition, male aspirants must have a valid LMV (Motorcycle and Car) driving license as of the date set for Physical Endurance and Standard Tests for the position of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police (alone). They will not be permitted to take the PET and PST if this is not the case.

 

SSC CPO Vacancies 

The official announcement for SSC CPO openings2020-2021 has been released. In the case of distinct postings and categories, the openings are released separately. SSC CPO Salary

Basic salary for the SSC CPO is Rs.35400. CPO Officers have seen a wage increase of almost 22-24 percent as a result of the 7th Pay Commission. The gross salary for an SSC CPO is Rs.47, 496.

The total (gross) salary is derived by adding the base pay by the HRA, TA & DA (if applicable), and other incentives that are provided. The quantity of these allowances varies based on the candidate’s posting city. The following are the SSC CPO salary allowances:

SSC CPO Syllabus

The following subjects are part of the SSC CPO Syllabus Paper-1:

  • Quantitative Aptitude

Let’s take a glance at the full syllabus for each of these four areas of the Computer Based Format of Exam:

 

English Comprehension

Candidates’ ability to comprehend English language, including vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, and proper usage, as well as their writing abilities, will be assessed in this portion.

 

General Intelligence and Reasoning

There are two types of questions: verbal and nonverbal.  Spatial Orientation Observation, Visual Memory, Arithmetical Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, and Analogies are all included in this Component. This area also covers spatial visualization, judgment, problem-solving, similarities and differences, discrimination, decision-making, visual memory, relationship ideas, arithmetic number series, and figural classification.

 

General Awareness

Questions will be created to assess general knowledge. It also tests the knowledge of current events. Questions on India and its neighbors, as well as history-related questions, are part the exam.

 

Numerical Aptitude

The questions will be constructed in such a way that they will assess the candidates’ common sense as well as their ability to work with numbers. The topics like  Whole numbers, partnerships, ratios and proportions, fractions, time and work, square roots, decimals are part of this section. Also, profit and loss, percentage, interest, time and distance, averages, discount, and other topics will be covered.

 

SSC CPO Paper-II English Language and Comprehension

SSC CPO Syllabus Questions will be asked to assess fundamental English language skills, such as error detection, synonyms-antonyms, active-passive voice, spelling, para jumbles, fill in the gaps, and so on.

 

SSC CPO Exam Pattern

The exam will be divided into three phases. If a candidate qualifies for the first level, he or she will be eligible for the second level, which is the physical examination. If a candidate passes the physical exam, he or she must then take another written exam. Both tests are made up of multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

 

Exam Structure

The SSC CPO Exam is divided several stages, which are as follows:

  • Paper I consists of a 200-point written exam that lasts 2 hours. General Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension are some of the subjects under this paper.
  • Paper II consists of a two-hour written test worth 200 points. It covers the topics like English language and comprehensions.

 

Exam Style

Both tests will be administered using a computer-based test in an online format.

 

Physical Test

Candidates who pass the written tests will be eligible to take the Physical Endurance Test and Physical Standard Test. Male and female candidates have different test standards. For the SSC CPO exam, there is no Personal Interview.

At last, a detailed Medical Examination and Document Verification is done before the candidate gets his/her joining letter.

 

 

SSC CPO Admit Card

SSC will issue two admit cards for SSC CPO Paper I and Paper II. Applicants who enroll for the SSC CPO 2020-21 exam will be able to download the Admit Card for Paper I & II 15 to 20 days prior to the written exam. Admit cards can be accessed on the SSC’s official site. To obtain the SSC CPO Admit Card, registered students will need their registration login ID and password.

 

SSC CPO Result

The date for the SSC CPO Result 2020-2021 has been released by the Staff Selection Commission. The date for the release of the  CPO result for Paper 1 is set for February 26th, 2021, according to the SSC notification. The CPO test was on schedule, which was Nov 23rd, 2020-Nov 25th, 2020.

However, due to the pandemic, the Paper-II examination has been postponed. Candidates who pass the Paper-I examination are eligible to take the Paper-II test. Only after results for Paper 1 and 2 are announced, SSC will reveal the final outcome.

 

How To Apply For SSC CPO? 

1: Candidates must go to the official website at www.ssc.nic.in and click on the ‘Apply’ option to fill out the application form for the SSC CPO 2021 test.

2: Candidates must first click the CAPF tab, then the ‘Click Here to Apply’ link in a new window that appears.

3: After clicking the aforementioned link, a new window will open in which you must click the ‘Register’ link to access the registration form. Fill in the blanks and press ‘enter.’ If the candidates have already registered, click “log in” to access the application form and download it.

4: Candidates will receive an email with a registration number and password after completing the registration process.

5: Candidates must log in with their registration number and password and complete the application form by providing the needed information.

6: Pay the application cost to complete the final stage, either online or offline mode

 

Key Points to Remember While Filling  the Application Form For The SSC CPO

  • The application process requires scanned photos of the candidate’s most recent photograph and signature.
  • The images must be greater than 1 KB in size and less than 40 KB in size, with a resolution of 100 pixels wide by 120 pixels tall.
  • The signature must be more than 1 KB in size but less than 12 KB in size, with a resolution of 140 pixels wide by 60 pixels high. The candidate must upload the sign must be in.jpg form.
